Klarna, the AI-powered global payments network, has joined forces with Uber to introduce convenient alternative payment methods for millions of consumers on Uber’s ride-sharing and Uber Eats platforms. Now live in the U.S., Germany, and Sweden, Klarna's "Pay Now" option enables users to immediately settle their next ride or delivery with a single click, offering the added convenience of tracking purchases via the Klarna app.
Furthermore, users in Sweden and Germany have access to a monthly payment option that bundles purchases into a single, interest-free payment aligned with their salary cycle, facilitating easier financial management without hidden fees. This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing payment flexibility and security for consumers on the go, according to Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski and Uber Vice President Karl Hebert.
With nearly 9.5 billion trips on Uber in 2023 alone, this collaboration aims to improve the customer payment experience while maintaining a low cost of acceptance for Uber. Klarna also emphasizes its commitment to responsible lending, noting that 99% of its transactions are repaid on time, underscoring its role as a sustainable credit alternative.
