Elon Musk denies Tesla-xAI revenue sharing and licensing report

Elon Musk has dismissed claims that Tesla has discussed sharing revenue with his AI startup, xAI, to utilize xAI's AI models. A Wall Street Journal report suggested Tesla would integrate xAI’s technology into its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, voice assistant, and the Optimus humanoid robot. Musk responded on his platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that the article was "not accurate" and that Tesla has no need to license anything from xAI. He highlighted that while Tesla has benefited from discussions with xAI engineers in advancing FSD, xAI’s extensive models are unsuitable for Tesla's vehicle systems.

Musk founded xAI as a competitor to OpenAI and envisioned its models enhancing technologies across his various ventures. However, Tesla shareholders have filed lawsuits against Musk, alleging that xAI unfairly diverts resources from Tesla.
